Dawn of the Weltkrieg

Fatherland Troops Marching into Sweden

The yolk of peace has finally broke, as all out war has been declared. Romania has accepted the Fatherlands demands, becoming a puppet state and handing complete control of their oil fields to the Empire. As a result, the Entente kept true to their word and declared war on the "Grand Imperial European Congress". However the Entente was not prepared to take any offensives, so when Scandinavia tried, it was met with extreme resistance, as the Fatherland has been fortifying and mobilizing for years. This failed attack has let the Fatherlands Northern Army group begin advancing into the lightly defended Scandinavia. The Fatherland was also able to make decent progress into the French heartland, however were met with stiff resistance at a fortified river line, causing a halt to the advance.

Unlike mainland France however, French Switzerland and French Italy was quickly over run and occupied due to unprepared garrisons, meaning Italy has finally gained control over the entire peninsula for the first time since the Roman Empire.

The Naval war has also met a stalemate, as the Fatherland has secured supremacy in the Baltic sea and parts of coastal Norway, while the Fatherland has yet to put any major pressure on coastal England or France. However the Mediterranean was an almost immediate loss for the Entente as the Fatherland Mediterranean Fleet, the Italian Fleet and Iberian Fleet smashed French forces in the area with minimal casualties. As Such Naval bombardments of French cities are a norm. With this new Supremacy, Italy has launched multiple naval invasions in Libya with great success, securing a foothold for Italy in North Africa.

The Fatherland hasn't left the English channel uncontested however. U boat wolf packs have been put all across the English coast targeting convoys and large ships, heavily limiting the amount of English support in France, and causing significant morale damage and beginning to drain English homelands manpower. Although Britain and France have outfitted destroyers with anti submarine measures they have not found a solid way to detect them.

The Air war is much easier to dictate, with the Fatherland and her allies having a solid superiority.
